Deacon David Lucheon will be speaking on “The Return of the Prodigal Son,” discussing Henri Nouwen’s book, The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming (1994), and Rembrandt’s painting, The Return of the Prodigal Son. Nouwen, a contemplative priest and spiritual director, had a chance encounter with a reproduction of Rembrandt’s painting and it catapulted him on an unforgettable spiritual adventure of the challenge to love as God loves, and to be loved as God’s beloved.
