Holy Thursday, Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Introit: God forbid that I should glory, save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. In him is salvation, life, and resurrection from the dead; by him we are redeemed and set at liberty. (Galatians 6:14)

Responsorial psalm: Our blessing cup is a communion with the blood of Christ. (Cf. 1 Corinthians 10:16, Psalm 116)

Offertory: Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.

1. Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor. Exsultemus, et in ipso iucundemur.
Timeamus, et amemus Deum vivum. Et ex corde diligamus nos sincero.

2. Simul ergo cum in unum congregamur: Ne nos mente dividamur, caveamus. Cessent iurgia maligna, cessent lites. Et in medio nostri sit Christus Deus.

3. Simul quoque cum beatis videamus, Glorianter vultum tuum, Christe Deus:
Gaudium quod est immensum, atque probum, Saecula per infinita saeculorum. Amen.

Translation: Where charity and love are found, God is there.

1. The love of Christ has gathered us together into one. Let us rejoice and
be glad in Him. Let us fear and love the living God and love each other
from the depths of our heart.

2. Therefore, when we are gathered into one, let us take heed
not to be divided in mind. Let there be an end to bitterness and quarrels,
an end to strife, and in our midst be Christ God.

3. And in company with the blessed, may we see thy face in glory,
O Christ God: pure and unbounded joy for infinite ages of ages. Amen.

Communion: This is the body that will be given up for you; this is the chalice of the new covenant in my blood, says the Lord; do this, whenever you receive it, in memory of me. (1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

Hymn at the transfer of the Blessed Sacrament: Pange lingua, gloriosa
